Growing in Wisdom, Faith, and Purpose

Student life at Cornerstone Academy extends learning beyond the classroom and into the rhythms of daily formation. Through athletics, clubs, fine arts, leadership opportunities, and other co-curricular experiences, students are invited to explore their gifts, pursue excellence, and grow in wisdom and character. These experiences are not simply activities—they are intentional spaces where perseverance is practiced, creativity is cultivated, and relationships are strengthened.

Chapel gatherings anchor our community in worship and truth, offering students regular opportunities to reflect, listen, and respond to God’s Word. Through prayer, teaching, and shared worship, students are encouraged to deepen their faith and live with purpose. Service opportunities further shape the heart, calling students to love their neighbors with humility and compassion while engaging both local and global needs.

Whether on the field, on the stage, in the classroom, or in the community, every aspect of student life at Cornerstone is designed to form students who can discern truth, steward their gifts, and joyfully submit all they do to Christ. The result is a vibrant community where students are prepared not only for future success, but for lives of faithful influence.

    Outside the Classroom

Cornerstone Academy offers a range of extracurricular activities that allow students to develop their talents, cultivate friendships, and foster teamwork. Our students compete in multiple athletic associations based on the sport, including Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA), Florida Christian Athletic League (FCAL), and Kingdom of Son, and participate in various activities and clubs.

Athletics: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Flag Football, and Wrestling

Arts & Performance: Vocal and Instrumental Music, and Visual Arts

Clubs: A variety of clubs provide opportunities for Cornerstone students to explore their varying interests including:

      4-H Program

Open to students of all ages, 4-H gives Cornerstone and homeschool students opportunities to explore their interests—whether animals, crafts, science, or leadership—while working alongside friends and mentors. Our 4-H club has been successful in local, regional, and state competitions, giving members exciting opportunities to showcase their hard work and dedication. Through 4-H, students grow as capable leaders and community-minded learners who take pride in what they create and achieve.

      Latin Club

Open to students in grades 6–12, offers a fun and enriching way to explore classical language and culture while building teamwork and academic skills. The club brings Latin to life through activities, fellowship, and friendly competition. Each year, members participate in state Latin competitions, where they can showcase their knowledge, challenge themselves, and celebrate their hard work. The club creates a welcoming community where students grow in confidence, curiosity, and appreciation for the classical tradition.

      Turning Point

Provides a meaningful space for students to engage with civic ideas, discuss current events, and grow in leadership. Members participate in respectful dialogue, explore different perspectives, and learn how to thoughtfully express their beliefs. Turning Point has been invited to local and state-level political events, giving students firsthand experience in interacting with community leaders and elected officials. These opportunities help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding of the political process, and take an active role in shaping a thoughtful, informed school culture.

      Student Government

Offers a meaningful way for students to serve their classmates and practice real leadership. Each class elects a student representative. The student body is led by a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Students enjoy these roles because they get to help shape school life, plan activities, and serve as a positive example for others. Taking on leadership teaches responsibility, builds confidence, and allows students to use their gifts to strengthen our school community.

      GROUNDED IN FAITH

At Cornerstone Academy, we encourage spiritual growth and guide students to develop Christian leadership skills for use in their homes, communities, and churches.

      Spiritual Activities at Cornerstone:

Chapel/Memory Time: Grammar School (grades K-5) students enjoy “Memory Time” on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, during which they sing worship songs, learn about the monthly virtue, and memorize Bible verses.

Logic & Rhetoric School students (grades 6-12) attend Chapel every Wednesday, led by our student praise team under the direction of Mr. Chong.

Worship Team: Cornerstone’s worship team offers students a special opportunity to serve as spiritual leaders and guide our community in praising God. By leading songs, readings, and prayer, team members serve as examples of reverence, humility, and joyful devotion. Students enjoy being part of the worship team because it allows them to use their musical and spiritual gifts to encourage others, deepen their own faith, and contribute to the heart of our school.

Bible Classes: Bible study is a daily subject incorporated into the Grammar School and High School course schedules, fostering a deeper understanding of biblical teachings and Christian principles.

Serving Others: Students across all grades put their faith into action by serving in our community. The Cornerstone senior class selects an organization to work with throughout the year on a culminating Capstone project. Every Spring, the other grades come alongside the seniors to serve in the community on Light Day.
